7 Google Chrome Tricks Tips to Speed Up Chrome and your PC

Google Chrome is used by more than half of people online, but can be slow and take your computer to a crawl. Many will say that Chrome is the best browser available. It is certainly the most popular, used by more than half of the online world. But it is like an animal that can slow your computer to a crawl by eating (using) most of your system memory and resources.

Using Multiple tabs, extensions and plugins can make you feel like you are using Windows 3.1 running on a Pentium 486 without the Turbo switch on your computer or laptop.

Here are some tips and tricks that you can use to control Chrome, reduce their impact on the PC and to speed up your internet browsing.

1) Let get rid of all the plug-ins that we do not use

One of the easiest ways to speed up the chrome and internet browsing is to cut the browser plug-ins. Type the following in the Chrome address bar and press Enter:

chrome://plugins

Click Disable all plug-ins that you want to disable. This will definitely help chrome to speed up as these plugins consumes lot of memory and make browser heavy.

2) Let you choose when to use a plugin

For plug-ins that you want to keep, you can always do more to reduce its impact on Chrome. You can use the media to stop using the plug-ins like Flash loading without your will.

There are a number of extensions to do this work but integrate Chrome settings to control plug-in are easy to activate.

In the setup menu "Advanced Options" Privacy and click on Content Settings and scroll down to the plug-ins. Select the "Let me choose" when the run a plug-in content".

When to load something like a flash video only you have to do, right click on the image of the disabled plug-in message and select "run this plug-in".

3) Remove or disables unnecessary extensions

Extensions are one of the best parts of Chrome, but each adds bloat to the browser and can, therefore, eat more computer memory and slow down.

Click the above Hamburger menu on the right side of Chrome, mouse over the "Other Tools" and click on "Extensions". Or you can use the following in the address bar and press Enter:

chrome://extensions

uncheck the "Active Extensions" to disable the unwanted extension, or click on the Trash to completely remove the extension.

The deactivation is entitled to activate at any time, which is useful for extensions that are used only occasionally. Plugins that are removed can always be re-installed on the Chrome Web Store, but it takes a little more clicks. So, the best option only disables the extension in chrome so that you can use them in future.

4) Suspend the tabs

Chrome with only two or three tabs open quite manageable, but if you have more than 10 tabs at a time it can even bring the powerful computer on his knees by consuming all the available memory.

There are two approaches to managing multiple tabs.

Use extensions such as the Great Suspender allows you to suspend the tab and remove it from the memory after a certain period of inactivity, without the tab to close the browser. An inactive tab can easily be recovered by simply clicking on it again and will not be lost.

The disadvantage of using this extension is that if the site changes or go offline the suspended Tab can not be recovered.

5) Create saved browser sessions in chrome browser

Instead suspending tabs individually TabCloud+ and session buddy extensions can be used to save the full browser or browser tabs immediately. Then you can close them all at once, reducing the burden of Chrome on the computer.

If you have been saved to continue the work in the tabs, all can just reload it in a full browser windows tab. It has the same disadvantage as the newly restored tabs are meant to be reloaded on the Internet, so if something has changed, or that the site is no longer available, then you will not be able to restore tab.

6) Turn off background prefetching in chrome to speed up

Chrome prefetching service automatically predict what the user will open next from the web page and tries to loads at least a part of that page in the background, you can actually speed up your computer by disabling this feature. This prefetching service of chrome is good for some as it speed the browsing but if you are on a slow internet connection or you want to run your computer and chrome browser smoother it is best to disable it.

To disable it, click on "Show advanced options" in the Settings menu, then click on Privacy, uncheck the “Use prediction service to load pages more quickly”.

It can slow down your browser a little bit by disabling the prefetch, but could help your PC by reducing the burden of Chrome. Recommended only for very slow computer and slow internet connection.

7) Use Data Saver in Chrome

And finally, if your computer is good enough but your Internet connection is slow and that slowing down your system, the data saver service by Google can help you.

It sets all unencrypted Internet traffic through a compression system of Google hosted servers, which reduces the amount of data downloaded by page and makes Chrome loading pages faster on slow connections.

It also reduces the use of your internet browsing data that may be useful for the fixed data pack connections.

To use Data saver, you need to download data saver for chrome and install that. Note that all the pages you visited without HTTPS connections of incognito tabs are seen by Google when the data saver is active.
