Reliance Jio will soon launch cheap 4G VoLTE feature phones for around Rs 1500 in India. Jio LYF budget mobile phones with 4G VoLTE functionality will be provided with the processor Spreadtrum 9820. When the world today is in the race of having best smartphones that run on Android and iOS platforms, Reliance Jio plans to launch the cheapest phones having 4G VoLTE technology.
These feature phones should have the price range between Rs 1,000 and Rs 15,000.
It seems that Jio brings these functional phones to capture market share in the feature phone segment in the country that the Indian brands such as Micromax and Intex are always gaining in the field of manufacturing cheap smartphones. It should also be noted that currently, feature mobile phones have a market share of 56%.
The report notes that the company is going to launch VoLTE enabled cheap feature phones by the end of this year or the first quarter of 2017. Just to inform you that VoLTE is only an upgrade, VoLTE is a software feature that allows users to make voice calls over an LTE network.
