How to root OnePlus X smartphone with TWRP rooting app

The OnePlus X rooting process is simple but requires that you follow the steps carefully. In this manual, you have to install TWRP rooting app on your OnePlus X phone. Since the OnePlus runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, we have to download and update SuperSU v2.46 app  only and not SuperSU v2.56 as this version of SuperSU app works only in the Marshmallow ROM.

Steps to root OnePlus X with TWRP app

Step 1: Download SuperSU app file on your PC.

Step 2: Transfer the downloaded zip file to the traceability of internal memory.

Step 3: Reboot your OnePlux phone into custom recovery option. To go to the custom recovery menu power off your device and restart it by simultaneously pressing the volume down and power keys.

Step 4: Create a backup of Android (optional). To do this, click on the backup option in TWRP, select all the partitions and swipe right to start the process.

Step 5: Return to TWRP main menu and click Install.

Step 6: Locate and select the file SuperSU.

Step 7: Pull the confirmation button to start the installation.

Step 8: Restart the device after the installation.

After the device restarts successfully, you have full access to your rooted OnePlus X. You can check the status of the root, just download and run Root Checker app from the Google Play Store.
